Message from Navtej Randhawa
On behalf of the Auckland Indian Retailers Association (AIRA), I am proud to extend our sincere gratitude to our members, partners, and community for your continued support and involvement. As we move forward into another year, AIRA remains committed to strengthening the voice of Indian retailers across Auckland and advocating for our shared interests in a dynamic business environment.
Over the past year, we’ve seen significant changes and challenges in the retail landscape — from evolving consumer trends to the lasting impacts of economic uncertainty. Through it all, our community has demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and the power of collaboration. AIRA’s role as a representative body has never been more important, and we are working hard to ensure that the voices of Indian business owners are heard in local governance, industry consultation, and national retail conversations.
Our focus remains clear: to empower our members through knowledge-sharing, networking opportunities, advocacy, and initiatives that promote sustainable business practices. We are also deepening our engagement with local councils and national organisations to ensure that Indian retailers are supported and recognised for the crucial role they play in Auckland’s economy and cultural fabric.
As we look ahead to the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), we invite all members to actively participate. Your voice matters. Together, we can shape the direction of AIRA and continue building a strong, united future for Indian retail in New Zealand.
Message from Marshal Walia
It is with great pride and gratitude that I address you on behalf of the Auckland Indian Retailers Association (AIRA). As we approach another significant milestone in our journey, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible strength, unity, and resilience of our retail community.
The past year has been both challenging and inspiring. From navigating supply chain issues to adapting to changing customer expectations, our members have shown remarkable determination and innovation. Your commitment to serving the Auckland community with authenticity and excellence is what continues to make Indian retail a vibrant and valued part of the local economy.
AIRA’s mission remains focused: to support, represent, and empower Indian-owned retail businesses across Auckland. Over the past 12 months, we have expanded our advocacy efforts, engaged more closely with local and regional authorities, and created new platforms for collaboration and growth. From business workshops and networking events to digital transformation support, our initiatives are designed with your success in mind.
As we look ahead to the upcoming Annual General Meeting in 2025, I warmly invite all members to participate. The AGM is not only a chance to review our progress but also an opportunity to shape the path forward—together. Your ideas, feedback, and involvement are essential to ensure AIRA continues to grow as a unified and effective voice for our community.
Thank you for your continued trust, energy, and support. Let us continue to uplift one another and work collectively toward a stronger, more connected future.
